Listeria : New Global Warming Threat

A new piece of news and evidence that should make all of us dislike those Republicans who think that Global Warming is not a problem. A coincidence that we should all take note of as a hint of the horrible changes we are going to face soon.

Global Warming is NOT just about hotter weather, rising oceans, and increased storm strengths. One of the greatest threats from Global Warming is the explosion of bacteria, bug and virus populations. The warmer weather will cause better habitats for these pests. It will also stop some of the freezes in areas that normally have these pests die off every winter.

In the news lately there is a report of Listeria in Cantaloupe.

They were grown in Colorado

Cantaloupe Death Toll Rises to 15

Everyone is afraid that we are not handling our produce correctly and that this is an isolated event that we can control. I say “FORGET THAT IDEA”.

Take a look at this interesting news:

August 2011 hottest on record for Denver

This is a significant “coincidence”. As we look forward to our future with Global Warming consequences, we should keep track of the outbreaks of bacterial infections of our food supply during the hottest months on record for these food-producing states. I think we will find a definite correlation.

One of my favorite quotes from crazy religious people is “You may not believe in god, but he believes in you”.

Here is my new quote for Global Warming: “You may not believe in Global Warming, but Global Warming based bacteria blooms believe in you”

There are five agencies that report average global temperature anomalies. I graph them all and average them to avoid bias. The average shows no average global temperature increase for a decade. They are graphed through August, 2011 in the pdf made public 9/22/11 at http://climaterealists.com/index.php?tid=145&linkbox=true. Links to the reports are provided in the pdf made public 3/10/11.

In the 1600’s history has recorded that the Church was the last, most conservative body to admit that Galileo was correct about the Earth being in an orbit around the sun.

History will record that in our century, American conservatives have taken the title of conservative mythology away from the Church. While even the Vatican has announced that it bows to the science of global warming, (link below), American conservatives contiue to profess that it as a hoax.

Dan, I am happy to post your link. American conservatives post any shred of evidence that helps them debate the issue. The true question is…..What are the benchmarks at which you will admit that Global Warming exists and is happening now? A northern passage through the artic ocean? The loss of over half of our global glaciers? The most powerful hurricane and typhoons in history? Extinction of a couple dozen land based mamals due to loss of habitat?

These will all happen. It would be great to have a Republican consesus as to the point at which you will accept the facts and work to help us solve this instead of calling for unbridled inudstry and growth of emissions into our atmosphere.

My question to you is what point to do concede that this is real? For American liberals, we live daily with the Republican agenda. Emissions from America dominate the planet. We far out-pollute china, India, or Europe. At what point will you begin to live with our agenda? Give us a point at which you will stop disagreeing and begin to help. Until then we know you will not change. We must accept that. But give us hope that there is some logic and common sense to your claims. Some point at which you will stop claiming evidence to the contrary. Any suggestions?

If you had understood the pdfs at the link you would have found out that I not only observed that global warming took place but that I derived an equation that calculates all temperature anomalies since 1895 with an accuracy of 88% and that considering the influence of carbon dioxide or not made no significant difference.

Apparently the observation that average global temperatures (agt) have been flat for a decade has not led you to wonder if global warming has stopped. Apparently the observation that the atmospheric carbon dioxide level has increased by over 23% of the increase from 1800 to 2001 while agt has been flat has not made you question whether human activity caused global warming.

I point out the observations and provide links to credible sources so readers can decide the validity of significant AGW for themselves based on what has happened and what is happening. The observations demonstrate that belief in AGW is a mistake.

Ice melts because it is warmer than it was when the water froze. It has been warming since the depths of the Little Ice Age so it should not be a great surprise that ice is melting.

When it becomes more widely known that an odorless, tasteless, transparent, harmless (even at over 10 times the present level) gas is not a pollutant it will be obvious that we do not “out-pollute” anybody.

Dan. No argument from me. I see your PDF’s. I understand them. I just asked for a definitive “line in the sand” where it can be identified that we have an global environmental problem that needs to be addressed.

Your groups have the political power to stop all activity towards curbing pollution. My only question and request to your comment was….what is the tipping point? Which one of my listed catastophies will be the one that makes you agree with Global Warming?

Until then, you win. You have your way. American global warming gas emissions will not change. You have the “enjoyable” position to ridicule 97% of all climatologists with your statistical data.

My guess is that you, and all of those who are in your ideological camp, will never give any definitive answer to when “enough is enough”.

If you do respond again…..please help me with an answer to my question. Let me restate it one more time for you.

I plan to continue with the research which resulted in the findings that I have made public. I will continue to report what I find. The research has revealed what caused the temperature run-up of the 20th century and that change to the atmospheric carbon dioxide level has had no significant influence on average global temperature for the entire time that reasonably accurate temperatures have been measured (since 1895).

This corroborates the finding that average global temperature is insensitive to change to the level of CO2 that I reported in March, 2008 at http://www.middlebury.net/op-ed/pangburn.html. In the pdf made public 4/13/2009 at http://climaterealists.com/index.php?tid=145&page=2 I corroborated this and demonstrated that net global feedback from average global temperature increase could not be significantly positive. This demonstrated that the IPCC work which assumed significant net positive feedback was wrong.

Also, the planet plunged into and then recovered from the Andean-Saharan ice age while the atmospheric carbon dioxide level remained constant at over ten times the present. A graph showing this is at http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/Carboniferous_climate.html.

The survey that led to the misleading claim that “…97% of all climatologists…” was conducted by Doran and Zimmerman in 2009. It is egregiously flawed as described at http://climatequotes.com/2011/02/10/study-claiming-97-of-climate-scientists-agree-is-flawed/

As to the events that you consider to be catastrophes:
Ice melting – I already addressed that. It is unclear why a northern shipping passage would be a catastrophe.

Severe weather – There is no evidence that weather has significantly changed over the last century or so. This addresses tornados for many decades http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/04/28/noaa-scientist-rejects-global-warming-link-tornadoes/

Species extinction – evolution happens. That is how the species that exist now got here.

Thus, none of the ‘catastrophes’ that you cite would be indicative. However, if I find any evidence that change to the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide has a significant influence on average global temperature I will report it.
